Dove Canyon is a highly desired area in 24/7 guard gated community. Located in the #1 Rated Safest City in all of California. And, I can say Dove Canyon certainly lives up to its name and symbol. After all, a reminder the Dove is the sign of peace. If the home, is something you are looking for, you are going to want to come check out this area!
Dove Canyon is nestled right next to Coto de Caza, located on the borders of Rancho Santa Margarita and Trabuco Canyon. Although it has a Trabuco Canyon zip code it is part of Rancho Santa Margarita.

Now, Let’s Talks What About what a Home in Dove Canyon Offers YOU!
Grab your coffee or tea and get comfortable… and here we go… First… I would like to say… This is not the high end of the homes here, I’d say it is middle is sized. I’ll bring you more. This one 2777 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3 car garage on a 8625 sq ft lot. This home is on the end of a cul-de-sac.
There is much to be said about the area which I’m happy to answer, just ask, but for now let’s get to the heart of the home. When you arrive home you’ll notice the extra large front yard and side with a couple of beautiful mature Jacaranda trees that generally bloom twice a year with some nice hardscape to add finishing touch. This is a fairly large lot for this area. Let me tell you, when a neighbor knew the seller was going to sell said, he said “If I could afford it, I would rent my home out and buy yours to live it”, that’s worth noting!

On the lower level you have the living room, huge dining room, family, kitchen, double door room which can be used as a bedroom but currently used as an office, a full bathroom, and the laundry room.
As you walk in you are welcomed with lots of window light and soaring ceilings in the neighborhood of 17 feet with 6 inch crown molding, and window casings for great added details. It also has wonderful wainscoting (beautiful detail paneling with trim that lines the lower part of the walls of a room). Such a clean, open, spacious, light, wonderful, can be contemporary, yet comfortable appeal in every direction of your eyes. I think they dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s on this one!!!

The entrance foyer is open all the way to the second floor and Oh, The windows!!! I love the dark rich glossy cherrywood color flooring with the warm paint colors, really feels like home. The floors are a mix with top layers being real wood. The seller was told they can be sanded down 1 or 2 times, so if you would like to change the color tones, you should have no problem there.

Upstairs you will find a large loft, 2 bedrooms and a full bath and at the end of the hall is the main bedroom. The primary suite bedroom is located at the end of the cat-walk which looks down to the living room on one side and down to the dining room on the other side. Of course, the main bedroom also has a full bath, separate bathtub and shower and what is endearingly termed his and her closets. The closets are conveniently accessed from the bathroom.
The loft is also big enough to convert to additional bedroom and still have have some room for a work desk area. I know someone who added the wall and door themselves and just paid someone to come texture the wall and boom done, making it a very inexpensive enhancement if you needed an extra room. (the texturing was the most expensive part of the project). Like I said this home is such a wonderful floor-plan but also allows for other options to adjust to your needs and/or wants.
Room for addition in this Dove Canyon Home
First, there is room above the dining room which was an option for another bedroom. The owners wanted the soaring ceilings in the dining room but can always be converted should you choose to. The soaring ceiling is more dramatic for the dining room, but an addition could be made to make it another room upstairs.
Or, one owner instead of adding an additional bedroom, they actually added the room with a door both going to the hall and to the primary bedroom, their purpose was for a second alcove area to the bedroom and added a massive additional closet, it turned out fantastic. So, if the his and hers closets in the main bedroom are not enough, there’s a great option for you!

The Backyard for Your Personal Enjoyment and Entertaining
The backyard could be an entertainers delight especially if you moved the wall closer to the street side to extend the backyard. You even fit a pool if that wall was extended. Of course you would need to check with the HOA and a contractor but that would really extend the backyard quite a bit.

Living here in Dove Canyon you’ll find the only golf course in Orange County designed with the “Masters’ touch”. Check video for better look. It boasts stunning mountain views, in every direction you look you’ll see the breathtaking scenic views. Nature seems to love it here too, you’ll hear all the wonderful birds. In the early morning, it is also very possible you’ll see deer out and about on the golf course, that’s a plus in my book 🙂 . The coyotes can be heard sometimes at night and you do need to have a respectable amount of precaution when it comes them.
There are numerous homes that offer golf course views. Others boast stunning vistas of rolling hills. It’s worth noting that in person, the beauty is even more impressive.

If you have a specific school in mind, you need to verify the address you are considering, for it’s boundaries. My sister has her teaching credential and has been a substitute teacher at almost every school here.
I’m also thrilled to announce that Tesoro High School has received a perfect 10 rating! The choir class is led by an Academy Award-winning teacher, and the sports teams are highly competitive and often make it to the playoffs.
For you information, there also is a Private Catholic High School . It is located just outside the gates at the bottom of the hill, if you’re interested. You can’t beat the proximity.
