The beautiful Welcoming Entrance at the bottom of the Hill
Living in Dove Canyon every day you’ll pass this wonderful waterfall at entrance base at the bottom of the hill. In the top photo, we were fortunate enough to witness this stunning sight of horse riders stopping at the waterfall. How could I not seize this opportune moment to snap a photo that perfectly encapsulates the natural charm of the Dove Canyon. The photos gives you a better detailed view of the beautiful waterfall and signage, welcoming everyone in such a spectacular peaceful way. After all, a reminder the Dove is the sign of peace. I feel it captures it on point, you?
One of My Favorite Captures Was Here at The Water Fall!
Ascending the hill to the guard gated community of Dove Canyon provides a stunning and impressive panoramic view. I’d say rendered even more beautiful by the well-manicured landscaping. The rose tress nestled in the midst of the landscape offer an exceptional burst of vibrant color and added elegance to the already picturesque scenery. Living in Dove Canyon has been a top choice for many home owners in Rancho Santa Margarita for good reason. As you can see, it’s in the details and quality of the neighborhood.
A peek at life inside the lovely guard-gated community of Dove Canyon
Dove Canyon is nestled right next to Coto de Caza, located on the borders of Rancho Santa Margarita and Trabuco Canyon. As I show you some behind the gates scenes, you’ll see why living in Dove Canyon is a top contender for anyone seeking a beautiful area and a safe home living environment. Notably, Rancho Santa Margarita tops the list of safest cities in California, making Dove Canyon a worthwhile consideration for a safe haven.
The magnificent Jack Nicklaus ‘Signature’ course
Living here in Dove Canyon you’ll find the only golf course in Orange County designed with the “Masters’ touch”. It boasts stunning mountain views, in every direction you look you’ll see the breathtaking scenic views. Nature seems to love it here too, you’ll hear all the wonderful birds. In the early morning, it is also very possible you’ll see deer out and about on the golf course, that’s a plus in my book 🙂 . The coyotes can be heard sometimes at night and you do need to have a respectable amount of precaution when it comes them.
As you can see in this picture, homes are positioned along the golf course which extends throughout the community. There are numerous homes that offer golf course views, while others boast stunning vistas of rolling hills. It’s worth noting that in person, the beauty is even more impressive.
Overview of Homes Living in Dove Canyon
Allow me to provide you with insights into what’s on the top of many people’s minds: the homes in this pretty as a picture community. I wrote a few posts on Linkedin, these homes have already previously sold, I wrote them a while back, however it’s a good way to get a glimpse and perspective, to actually see inside some of the homes here. I also give you insight to my thoughts about them. I’ve posted them here. The first one linked here to view had the most peaceful location, Spectacularly Private View Pool Home this one also, See Your Own Private Oasis Luxury Home. Everyone is different, I love the hill view homes. This 3rd home posted here, was on the golf course Gorgeous Dove Canyon Pool Home on Golf Course. Now, worth noting, the homes with views can easily add at least 100k or more to the price tag, depending on location and the view.

This beautifully crafted community boasts a total of 1,252 stunning homes ranging in size from 1,793 to 4,500 square feet. The homes here include 2 – 4 car garages; I jokingly referring to the 4 car garages as “his and hers,”. While single-story homes are rare they do exist, though they are seldom available listed on the market for sale. The Dove Canyon community does not offer any condos available for you.
Current Price Range of Homes of the Homes in Dove Canyon
Let’s talk about prices of the homes here in Dove Canyon. Prices are always an important consideration when you are looking to purchase a home. The prices are going to vary depending on location, views, upgraded features, and market. We are at the end of May/2023 as I write this. I will give a price range from the last 12 months for closed sales to give you perspective to see if it is right for you. There have been 40 closed home sales in the last 12 months, with prices ranging from $1,010,000 to $2,400,000. Most homes were built from 1989 – 1998, this is great news due to Mello Roos are paid off, they have low property taxes. If you want to understand property taxes in Orange County, I’ll include a link at the bottom of this blog. The HOA’s are currently $300 a month which includes your 24/7 guard gate service.
Dove Canyon Amenities offered Inside This Community
Despite some homes having personal pools, a community pool still remains a popular option. Additionally, there are four lighted tennis courts, a children’s play area, and a basketball court for your recreational activities. For residents looking for more, there is a beautifully designed clubhouse that includes a restaurant, gym, and even a golf course. It is important to note that additional fees do apply for use of the golf course, gym, and restaurant. This photo is of the backside of the clubhouse. When the back side of clubhouse looks like this, you know they paid attention to all the details.
Living in Dove Canyon offers you enjoyment with a variety of activities and amenities such as Tennis, Swimming, Walking, Golfing, Basketball, and/or Playing are all pleasure for you here when Living in Dove Canyon.
In this Master Plan community gives you a little bit of everything. If walking, hiking, or biking is something you enjoy… come and see, you will find there are both hiking and biking trails here for your enjoyment. Everyone loves walking these the neighborhood hills, it’s a wonderful way to get some healthy thought time and exercise. This is one of those neighborhoods you are bound to see people out walking at all times of the day. Need a break? There is a bench at the top of a hill by the golf course, as you can see, it’s a perfect to watch sunrise or sunset, as you see it was a wowser for sure. I snap this photo near that bench.
What you need to About The Schools
If considering living in Dove Canyon, While all schools in the Capistrano Unified School District are top-notch, it’s important to know that not all home addresses are assigned to the same school. If you have a specific school in mind, you need to verify the address you are considering, for it’s boundaries. Check out The Great Schools website linked below for in-depth statistics. ⬇️ If you have questions about any specific school, feel free to ask. My sister has her teaching credential and has been a substitute teacher at almost every school here.
I’m also thrilled to announce that Tesoro High School has received a perfect 10 rating! The choir class is led by an Academy Award-winning teacher, and the sports teams are highly competitive and often make it to the playoffs.
For you information, there also is a Private Catholic High School located just outside the gates, if you’re interested. You can’t beat the proximity.
